Bridging the Fatherless Leadership and Opportunity Gap.
Who are we?
The Center for Fatherless Youth Development “CFFYD” formerly Global Works Trust, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to developing resilient leaders by surrounding fatherless youth with the relationships, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. Through a comprehensive continuum of care, we integrate leadership development, residential programming, transitional housing, education, workforce pathways, research, advocacy, and community partnerships to create lasting pathways to independence. We believe fatherlessness is not simply a family issue. It is a community issue, and lasting change is achieved when communities work together.
-
Displaced youth - Youth residing in group homes and homeless shelters.
Military-Impacted youth - Youth who have lost a father in combat or may be suffering a service-connected disability.
Youth who have lost a father due to unforeseen circumstance or a medical condition.
-
Using our four E framework — essential needs, education, environmental stewardship, and economic development — we design programs that holistically develop youth experiencing fatherlessness into leaders.
-
In addition to directly serving youth experiencing fatherlessness, we have developed a research and advocacy program that actively conducts thorough research to educate our community about the impacts of fatherlessness on the entire sector, and proven methods to help combat the systematic impacts of fatherlessness.
