Join the Center for Fatherless Youth Development for the Roll With Us Community Skate Fundraiser, an exciting family-friendly skating event bringing people from across Suffolk and Hampton Roads together for music, movement, community, and meaningful impact. Whether you're an experienced skater, stepping onto the rink for the first time, or cheering from the sidelines, there's a place for you here. Come enjoy an unforgettable afternoon while helping CFFYD expand mentorship, leadership development, educational opportunities, life-skills training, and supportive spaces for youth being raised without fathers.

You do not have to skate to participate. Families, friends, businesses, churches, community organizations, mentors, educators, and supporters are all invited to attend.
The Roll With Us Community Skate Fundraiser is about more than entertainment.
During the event, CFFYD will lead an important discussion about how fatherlessness affects young people, families, schools, neighborhoods, and the broader Hampton Roads community. We will also explore how individuals and organizations can respond through mentorship, positive relationships, educational opportunities, family support, community partnerships, and consistent investment in young people. Fatherlessness should not be viewed only as a private family issue. Its effects can reach the entire community, which means the community also has an opportunity to be part of the response. Your presence helps demonstrate that youth being raised without fathers are seen, valued, and surrounded by people who believe in their potential.
Rollerskate Competition
Skate teams, artistic skaters, rhythm skaters, performance crews, and community skate groups are invited to perform. Performers of all ages may apply. Groups of three or more will receive discounted admission, and participating performers will be highlighted on CFFYD’s social media pages leading up to the event. Groups will also have the opportunity to compete for an exciting first-place prize package.

A simple 30-second video can help introduce someone to the issue of fatherlessness, encourage a new supporter to attend, or inspire someone to become a mentor, volunteer, donor, or community partner.
Participating is easy:
Record: Share a 30-second video explaining why you are attending or why supporting fatherless youth matters to you.
Post: Upload your video, tag @CFFYD, and include #WhyIRollChallenge.
Challenge: Nominate three people to share their reasons and meet you at the rink.
Your voice can help move fatherlessness from a private struggle to a shared community concern.
